2018
I Remember Purim featured paintings on paper which are based on Schiff's fond memories of Purim, a Jewish holiday that celebrates the bravery of Esther. Using an oil stick and acrylic resist technique, the artist works figuratively and abstractly. A bright palette of traditional spring colors, each work is playful in its depiction of Old Testament figures and reflects Purim as one of the most joyous celebrations on the Jewish calendar. I Remember Purim illustrates not only the story of Esther but also the continued celebration of the queen's heroic story.
